Ski Weekend

This past weekend was our Hanscom family's annual ski trip.  Much like last year, it consisted of some cocktails,

Lots of sugary snacks,

Some friendly competition,

One pregnant woman,

And, of course, some skiing & snowboarding!

Danny Kent, Matt Bader, Heidi Bader, Jace Anders, Crystal Ornelas, Peter Foster, Liz Damato, Brian Reese & Danielle Reese
So here's a quick recap of the weekend's festivities.  We had 5 couples for this year's trip to Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, VT.
Pete & Crystal
Matt & Heidi
DK & Liz
Ali & Jace
Brian & Danielle

Friday night was a great time.  We laughed a lot, drank a lot (H2O for me peeps, no worries), ordered some Wicked Good pizza, watched the NHL all-star game draft (professional athletes picked their team as if they were playing kickball in the playground - sucks to get picked last on national television) and played Taboo.  Highlight of the night was Heidi explaining her new obsession with Shellac-ing her nails - the picture speaks for itself!

The long day at the office, coupled with the 3-hour drive got to some of us sooner than others (calling out Jace, DK and Liz for their 12:00 AM trip to Loft Tavern for some "atmosphere") but eventually we all hit the sack safely in anticipation of hitting the slopes the next day.

On Saturday everyone woke to the smell of a fabulous breakfast being prepared by Matt, Brian and Pete (thanks guys).  Bacon, eggs and some tots got everyone calorie saturated for the day and it was off for the lifts around 9:30.  I headed over to Jackson's Gore for a facial & massage around 11:00 - thank you, Santa!

Everyone started to roll back into the condo around 4 o'clock with all the war stories of the day... Bades talking about his 3' of air (ending in a yard sale), Jace earning Most Improved from last year by actually pointing his skis towards the bottom of the mountain vs. snowplowing his way down the runs and Heidi receiving praises from the whole group for all the great tips she gave everyone!  It was a blast listening to all the stories as the Coors Light began to flow once again.  Pete & Crystal thought ahead and brought some grub (caesar salad, pasta, and garlic bread) so some of the guys whipped up an Italian feast for us all.  Dishes were done in no time flat in preparation for the NHL all-star skills challenge - thank goodness that was on!  Saracasm there, yes.  We toughed through that and busted out a few games before we all hit the sack around 11 - yes, that's right, the old timers didn't even make it to midnight after a rough day on the slopes of Okemo!

All-in-all what a great trip - especially fun for Jace and I as we prepare to trade in our free weekends and quick, spontaneous get-aways for poopy diapers and spit-up!  Thanks again to Pete and Crystal for organizing such a fun trip for all of us.  Can't wait for ski trip 2012!!!

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
