Deuces!!

If you ask Easton how old he is he will respond "deuces" and throw his hand up in the air with a peace sign!  All credit goes to Jace and his hard-knocks upbringing in St. Louis Park -- Easton's now the most ghetto two year old in Beavercreek, OH. (I'm laughing fairly hard right now). As his second birthday draws to a close it's hard to believe we've been so blessed by this adorable little human for two full years!!  It's unreal to listen to him recite his "A, B, C's"... And listen to him count to 10 (ish)...sometime with a "quatro" thrown in for good measure The time has flown by so quickly but then again the seems to have ticked away at a beautifully perfect pace.  I'm hoping it has to do with how much I've been documenting our lives or maybe with all the moves it's easy for me to segment the time...regardless, life is good! Happy 2nd Birthday, Easton!! This year's celebration was much more s...

To the Zoo!

During our office's Monday planning meeting it never fails that the boss asks each of us about what we did over the weekend...and that's where I get all our ideas about how to entertain Easton the following weekend.  These ideas are generally courtesy of JJ Futey or Sam Mink because their families definitely know how to make the most of a weekend (and why come up with my own ideas when I'm surrounded by these parenting pros)!! So... enter the Futey/Mink suggestion...the Columbus Zoo ! The zoo is huge (as you can see above) and also has a water park and other rides attached to it.  If it weren't such a long drive we'd probably go every weekend!  On a side note, the zoo is up near Dublin, OH ...another "I could live there" city.  That now makes my total "ICLT" cities probably close to 50...should make retirement interesting. Moving on...moving on... OK so, like I said, the zoo is huge.  They had so many different animals that we left the...

GammaGampa Round 1

Oh my heavens I'm beyond in love with this photo!! Easton & GammaGampa My mom (aka GammaGampa) was in town for a way-too-quick visit last weekend. Jace was in Florida with his dad, Mr. Rod and Brian for their annual Grudge Cup (which I'm pleased to announce the young guys won) and my dad is off playing war somewhere in the Pacific so she came to see Easton and help me whittle down the "to-do" list that I can never seem to find time "to do".  So let's track our progress, shall we?? Friday : I took leave and Easton headed off to school.  After numerous cups of coffee, trips to Target, Michael's, HomeGoods and the mall we turned this... ...into this! She's a whiz w/some painter's tape, a tape measure, some 2" nails (oops) and a hammer Whoa! Wait, what?! Where'd all those people come from? Oh those aren't just people , those are OUR PEOPLE, Kewanee (area) types...these people are the Blakes!! These w...

My First "Photoshop In"

The CAG's previous photoshop whiz kid moved this fall so I got to try my hand at "Photoshopping in" one of our team members who was deployed during our group photo.  Lookout...I'll be going pro soon!  Kidding...this is fabulously horrible but you've got to start somewhere right?  While I was at it I should have tried to do something about me looking like an elf... that'll be my next project :) AFMC CAG 2013
