Cabin Fever

Does the title give it away? Yep. Sick of this cold weather...except when it allows for a 1000 start to work like last Friday...I'm cool with that. I know spring is right around the corner but containing our not-quite two year-old each weekend gets more and more difficult!! We drove around the Creek today and scouted out some new parks in hopes of sending some good-weather vibes Mother Nature's way :) Despite the cold temps we managed to find some fun things to do this weekend around the house. 1.  We ate Nutella a visual example of mommy's poor decision making after he dominated a waffle, a sausage link. an entire banana... 2. We explored the bathroom and Mommy's makeup bag Yep, it's just as mysterious to me, buddy 3. We organized the spice cabinet. And by "organized" I mean threw away about half of the jars because they were expired. I cook a lot. He loved the peppercorns the most -- they made the most noise 4. We jumped on the be...

Happy Birthday, Mr. President

Date day. We both wore jeans. Whaaaat?!? This was my Project 365 shot today -- #best_dressed. HA! Thank you George Washington (and all you other presidents) for the day off today!! Jace and I had a wonderful time with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence  while Easton played with his friends at school. After the movie we cruised around The Greene where I shopped but didn't buy anything and Jace got himself a new jersey. Yes. Another one.  I have such a hard time buying clothes any more...unless I'm at Kohl's with a 30% off coupon totally stoked about how much I've "saved"! Regardless where I shop the clothes just end up hanging in my closet with no where to go. But anyway, let me tell you about our week/weekend. The week was long...really long...but Jace became an ordained minister so there's that... McChesney wedding here we come... I'm not sure whether the press pass or parking permit made me laugh harder But you've got to love ...

We Love You

Happy Valentine's Day, Little Homie. Can't believe how much you've grown in a year -- or that you're getting books from Auntie Sherry on potty training!! Happy Hearts Day, everyone. Yep. People totally call this day "Hearts Day"...what rock have you been living under? My first foray into using brushes -- and Easton's first adventure in filling out cheap valentines from the grocery store. sorry everyone at daycare...you're lucky i even remembered to buy these...though in my mind they look like this Look at this stellar penmanship...he gets it from his grandfather We opened his gifts last night because, well, why not? Thanks Grandma & Grandpa and Auntie Sherry & The Original He just reads this and is potty trained, right? Of course, he picks up the wrong book. C'mon, man! OK, OK, that's enough of that sitting still business. Let's play, Dad! Hope you all -- yea, all 7 of you reading this -- have...

Advocare...Until We Meet Again...Maybe

Now that we (read: Jace) have finished our Advocare 24-Day Challenge I'm transitioning my running commentary from a 'page' to a 'post' so you (read: I) don't have to see it permanently anchored to the top of our blog anymore. :) Feel free to ignore this post if you're receiving this via email. -- Happy Valentine's Day Eve   Look how excited I am. SO excited. And no, I can't control my eyebrow, either, Tierra .

The Arizona Sun

When did we get so old? Sunshine. It's been in short supply around these parts so I figured I'd hop a flight to Arizona and join my family for a mid-winter re-charge. It was wonderful. I even got to spend a few hours with my bestie Sam, her husband Fred and their kiddos while knocking out a five-hour layover in Dallas. Many people buy souvenirs at the airport but I didn't need to buy anything to remember that stop...I'll just live with the embarrassing memory of getting my butt-kicked by her four and a half year old. The trip was a little difficult for me because I left Jace behind with a sick little homie -- so sick he got the boot from daycare and Jace had to take him to the doctor all by himself. Easton hates the doctor's office...and I'm sure they love having him there...so I felt super guilty, but what's new? Guilt aside it was pure bliss to be in the presence of my family for a few days. I lack the words to adequately describe how comforting it...
