"L" is for Jace

Easton's pretty solid with his numbers up to about 16 or 17...from there it often jumps to 35, 28 or right on back to 1.  He loves numbers. Check. We'll keep working our way to 20, buddy. But there are also these rascally little things called LETTERS! We've had these magnetic letters on our fridge for quite a while. Up 'til now all he's wanted to do was eat them. As nutritionally balanced as they may be we decided to hold off until he was older...more mature... Well that time has arrived!  They must be working on learning letters at school (#parentfail b/c I'm not exactly sure what's in their current lesson plans) because he asked to play with them yesterday and it was super fun..."A" is for awesome!  We broke them out again this afternoon and Easton then informed me that "L" stands for Jace...and "V" stands for Tiger "ROAR"...and listening to him say "umbrella" is RAD. The paparazzi then follo...

That Corn Was SWEET!

Fairborn.  2013 Sweetcorn Festival.  Team Anders did NOT mess around this year. One ear of freshly steamed corn, two zero-calorie corn fritters, 1/2 a chicken AND a drink...$10.00. I HEART FAIRBORN, OH :) p.s. I now realize that I spelled sweet corn wrong (2 words, ya dummy)...and i'm too lazy to go fix it Thousands of our loyal readers may remember what happened last year  and this crew wasn't about to let history repeat itself so we got up and at 'em today, boy!  At exactly 11:00 the Team Anders wagon rolled into the Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival and made an immediate beeline to the sweet corn pavilion. It was worth it.  Easton loved the corn fritters (surprise, surprise...um, save some for me, kid) while Jace and I wailed on the freshly-steamed sweet corn.  We made our obligatory cruise through all the vendors tables but nothing tripped our trigger enough to drop any coinage. But just as we were leaving..."Mommy, Daddy, neigh, neigh, neigh!!...

Summer Lovin'

Teams Anders and Mink have been slackin in the hangout department but the stars aligned last weekend -- hip, hip, hooray!!! eDougie Fresh and I were able to get over to Sam & Sara's on Sunday afternoon for a lovely little backyard BBQ and, as usual, we had a blast!!   We started on the swings...can you believe these little nuggets are big enough to swing on these "big kid" swings now? (very slowly but still...come ON?!!)   These next two pictures were taken almost one year ago...August 25th, 2012. After the two crazies had enough with the swings...it was time to bounce!  Kathleen has the bluest eyes!!! I'm glad she doesn't mind my camera in her face :) And eventually it was time to eat Sara's scrumptious food.  She made chicken kabobs (chicken, garden-fresh veggies, EVOO, S&P, basil) and sweet corn that had just been picked that weekend from her uncle's farm. Hands down the best corn on the cob I've ever eaten. Tru...

Rewind...McChesney Visit 2013

Hello, again...hello. So it's been a hot minute since my last post but there's a lot going on here in the Anders household and with eSmallz hittin the hay closer to 8 p.m. these days I'm truly runnin' outta daylight. It also didn't help that I got laser-focused on a tasker for Auntie Sherry but I'm pretty pumped about how that turned out so no complaints! Anyway, I had to get our last visit from Team McChesney ( minus one this time ) on the books so let me take ya'll (yes, you + all = ya'll -- much more efficient when typing) back a few weeks to a fun-filled weekend.  Ah...those were the days... Wayne and Sherry arrived on Thursday the 18th and we immediately put the pedal to the metal -- puzzles with crazy Uncle Wayne!  I got home a bit late from work to the announcement that Easton had peed on the potty for Auntie Sherry!  Um. AWESOME. Too bad it was a one-off and the feat is still yet to be repeated... :( You can barely notice but E'...
