Party On, Easton!

Photo courtesy of  Wild Juniper Etsy Store As promised here's a glimpse into the super fun party we hosted yesterday...but first a few observations: Jace and I have some amazing friends but apparently they can't read (but thank you all so very much for the gifts) :) Any romantic ideas I had about opening a bakery one day have died a miserable death after making cupcakes from scratch, baking a cake and making enough frosting for both! Vegetable shortening is disgusting and should NEVER EVER EVER be used to make frosting. Eww. Or maybe I messed something up but I'm going with "eww"... Don't ever let Jace and I plan a party for you...or if you do completely underestimate the number of people attending and then you'll have the perfect amount of food. My husband is incredible! He was luke warm about this party until I told him how much I was looking forward to it and from there he was all in. From picking up the rental chairs to cleaning the kitchen...

Father's Day Weekend 2011

"I'm all smiles, too, Mommy!" Then he puked...ugh... As I sit down to write this I'm all smiles...in small part because I just finished off the last corner piece of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownie that was leftover from last night but in large part due to the absolutely wonderful weekend Team Anders had. For those of you who read my rants on a semi-regular basis you know that Jace has been beboppin around for the past three weekends but THIS weekend he was all ours and we had SO much fun together :) Friday started off on what could have been a pretty low note as we had to take little E into get his first round of immunizations. He was due for the standard 2-month old series, six total vaccines...I was putting on a brave face but I was a little worried about hearing my baby boy scream bloody murder. We were pleasantly surprised though as Easton braved through the three shots with some vocal demonstrations and a few tears but calmed down immediately when ...

Mites Hockey & Healthy Bean Dip...A Winning Combo

Hi all!!  It's been a few weeks since I've blogged and I was beginning to go through withdrawals so here I am with a little random post.  Honestly not too much going on around here besides just hoping these Braxton-Hicks contractions will soon turn into the real deal...  In the meantime, our days/nights have been filled with lots of QT with our couches and the NCAA tournament - can't complain about that at all! So, you're probably wondering what in the world the title of this blog is all about...let me explain. Jace and I went up to Concord, NH yesterday to watch our good friends' Lee & Kevin Marcoux's kids play in their Mites hockey tournament.  Two brothers (Jake & Brendan) on the same team with a bunch of 5 to 9-year olds...ADORABLE!  They get these super focused faces, sticks firmly planted on the ice and then SKATE, SKATE, SKATE, ooops, tripped by the red line (or their own feet)...makes me want to just pack up shop and move to MN so we can be re...
