"L" is for Jace

Easton's pretty solid with his numbers up to about 16 or 17...from there it often jumps to 35, 28 or right on back to 1.  He loves numbers. Check. We'll keep working our way to 20, buddy. But there are also these rascally little things called LETTERS! We've had these magnetic letters on our fridge for quite a while. Up 'til now all he's wanted to do was eat them. As nutritionally balanced as they may be we decided to hold off until he was older...more mature... Well that time has arrived!  They must be working on learning letters at school (#parentfail b/c I'm not exactly sure what's in their current lesson plans) because he asked to play with them yesterday and it was super fun..."A" is for awesome!  We broke them out again this afternoon and Easton then informed me that "L" stands for Jace...and "V" stands for Tiger "ROAR"...and listening to him say "umbrella" is RAD. The paparazzi then follo...

Ch-Ch-Chatterbox!

On the 4th of July - getting ready to unload all the shoes from his closet Easton will be 27 months old on Tuesday and over the past few weeks his speech and ability to form "sentences" has blown us away!  The things that come out of his mouth are quite hilarious so Jace and I sat down the other day and made a quick list of all his funny phrases.  Here are some of our favorites: "Easton hepa you" -- > he needs one of us to help him "Not Mommy...Daddy" -- > loves Daddy and wants him at all times...very few exceptions "I go bye bye with Daddy in Daddy truck" -- > again...wants nothing to do with good old Mom "I get it for ya, OK?" -- > he ends most questions with "OK?" "Don't touch me/my (insert whatever I'm touching)"  "I need messininns" --> he needs his allergy medicine...messininns...so cute! Whenever asked a "why" question his response is "why not?"...

Slide!

Easton's first slide!

Watch Me Grow...12 Months!!

Easton at 1 month and 12 months It was a super rainy day here today and as Jace and I were trying to entertain a whiney little boy this morning it dawned on me that I hadn't taken Easton's 12 month pictures (he's got two more upper teeth coming in and he's a hot mess)! I have been so focused on his first birthday that I actually forgot about the stickers until just this morning...oops! So in order to properly close the year of stickers here's Easton's 12 month photos...sadly, I've run out of steam with this project (just look at how lazily I put on the sticker...nope...it isn't straight) so please forgive the lack of creativity in these shots. If anyone's interested in a short skinny dude with a large melon text me! Wt: 20.7 lbs (20%); Ht: 28.4 in (16%); Head Circ: 18.8 in (85%) Oh, Mom, this again? Sheesh... OK, OK, this isn't so bad if I get to rock the chair all by myself But now I'm over the rocking thing...are you ...

Watch Me Grow...11 Months

11 months, 1 day old. Look at those baby blues - LOVE :) Last photo shoot before Easton will be smearing his 1st birthday cake all over his face. Seriously? So at this point our little Smallz is weighing in around 21 lbs, not sure how tall (we'll get that next month). He's wearing mostly 12 month clothes but the pants are still a little long. His upper front two teeth have broken through his gums but you can only see him when he's flipped upside down. Yea, he's going through this wacky phase where he throws his head back all the time and likes to stay that way - must get that weirdness from his dad b/c I'm perfectly normal (just sayin'). He's cautiously working his way to his first steps...has taken a few but at this point they're more protective measures so he doesn't bounce his face off the floor more than actual steps...but they're cute nonetheless. And I hear ya, no rush here to have him start walking just letting you know what goe...

Steady...Steady...

Look, friends, I'm standing all by my dang self!!! Hope everyone's doing alright without that extra hour of sleep last night! I know it's thrown us for a bit of a loop here but we're managing. Smallz has been one ball 'o hot mess today. Not sure if it's due to the time change, his top front two teeth finally breaking through his gums or his cough that seems to be progressing beyond the normal daycare hack. Waaaa...Easton!! In between his fussy spells he's had a great day today though. The sun was shining and the temperature was high enough for us all to get out for a long walk. It was great - and Rae sure appreciated it, too (as she snoozes away curled up by Jace on the couch). It's been an exciting weekend around the Anders house. March Madness is upon us and E is so close to taking his first steps. I'm not sure who's more excited right now...Easton or Mr. Bracketologist himself. All I hear from the other room is ESPN and the "c...
