1140 miles in 50 hours but DANG was it worth it!
While Grapes Dean and Easton held it down back in Ohio, Jace and I hit the road for Vernon, NY to witness our friends Meg Ryan and Ben Thomas tie the knot in a beautiful Friday afternoon ceremony.
| Meg and her dad. Beautiful! |
| The scenery was gorgeous and Meg looked amazing :) |
We were also thrilled to meet up with our other dear friends the Fosters, LDK and Ruuuben (don't know where that dang ".." key is for the 'u', buddy).
| This woman never takes a bad picture. Promise. |
| Sure do love these ladies!! |
| And I kinda like the guys, too ;) |
| The Minister and LDK practicing for the big day. The minister may have failed this audition....TBD |
After the ceremony it was time to DANCE. My hubs is a wedding reception dancing MACHINE!
The night finally drew to a close around midnight for me (big win there) and at 3 am for Jace (normal wedding ops for him). It was a beautiful party but the fun wasn't about to end there...next stop...Syracuse, NY and Liz's old
stompin grounds (hint, hint: Go Orange)! She introduced all of us to Dinosaur Bar-b-que and I'm not kidding when I say this was one of the best meals of my life! unbelievably good...and it didn't hurt that the meal was free (oh yea, credit card roulette was back in effect...it's a given when all of us are together). Thanks for the meal, Danny (and Liz)! ;)

The scene of the crime. We all put our cards in and let the waitress pick one out. EEEEEKKK! |
| SMOOCH! Love her. And see what I mean...miss photogenic. |
After we cruised around campus, stopped for another drink and hooked eSmallz up with a sweet little orange Otto t-shirt...
it was off to the final destination...
Seneca Lake and
Hudson's Hideaway! I love homeaway.com and this little rental didn't disappoint. We had plenty of space, access to the lake, a fire pit, and a hot tub! Even though we weren't able to check in until 4pm we managed to make good use of all amenities.
| Cute little cabin! |
| View of the "beach" area from the dock. |
| Pete and Ruuuuben kayaking |
LDK trying to maneuver the paddle boat in the wind was possibly the best moment of the day! |
| Guess who!? |
| Unbelievable sunset -- and a random kayaker |
| Fire pit, beer, wine, pizza and so many laughs. |
| love this. miss them. happy we had a few short days to reconnect. |
We were back on the road early Sunday (tear) but not before I could get a few artsy shots at sunrise by the lake....
...and made it home by 3 to give the little dude a bunch of huge hugs and rescue Grapes Dean. He and Easton had a great time -- McDonalds pancakes, plenty of hours at Shoup Park and tons of quality time to bond with one another. Thanks a MILLION Dean for driving all that way to help us out and spend time with Easton :)
| Oh yea. Jace grabbed him a football, too. |
| and he loves it! |
| Kid's obsessed with putting his shoes on "myself" |
