Father's Day Weekend 2011

"I'm all smiles, too, Mommy!"
Then he puked...ugh...
As I sit down to write this I'm all smiles...in small part because I just finished off the last corner piece of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownie that was leftover from last night but in large part due to the absolutely wonderful weekend Team Anders had. For those of you who read my rants on a semi-regular basis you know that Jace has been beboppin around for the past three weekends but THIS weekend he was all ours and we had SO much fun together :)

Friday started off on what could have been a pretty low note as we had to take little E into get his first round of immunizations. He was due for the standard 2-month old series, six total vaccines...I was putting on a brave face but I was a little worried about hearing my baby boy scream bloody murder. We were pleasantly surprised though as Easton braved through the three shots with some vocal demonstrations and a few tears but calmed down immediately when he got the last vaccine which was in the form of a sweet juice type dealio. So far this kid absolutely ROCKS. We left the clinic with a smiley little baby who had two cute little florescent camo bandaids on his chunky little legs (yea, epic fail by mom...no picture) :( One of the shots made him very sleepy so we just laid low that evening and enjoyed doing nothing.

Saturday started with a quick workout for me (I was way lazy on Friday) and then we headed up to the Ninety Nine Restaurant to grab some food and watch the Bruins parade the Stanley Cup through the streets of Boston. People out here sure do love their teams as there's no way in hell I would have braved that chaos to watch a parade...to each their own. On Saturday afternoon we headed down to Southie to see Brian, Jill & Ella Rodgers and I had been looking forward to this get together for two weeks. Jace and Rod are best friends and Jill and I get along like we've know each other forever so it's always fun to hang out with them. Jace and I always leave their place saying we need to get together more frequently but they're such busy bees it's tough. So anyway, Brian grilled chicken breast, Jill made some amazing green beans (that Jace was still talking about today) and we did a LOT of catching up on their beautiful roof deck. Thanks for a lovely evening you guys!!!

The perfect evening!
Today, of course, was Father's Day and we had a great time hanging out as a family. I got Easton up at his regular time around 6:00 AM, took Rae out and let Jace sleep in. When the sleeping bear finally awoke he enjoyed a healthy Father's Day breakfast of a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownie and opened his card and present from Easton.

Inside of the card we made for Daddy @ day care
Yea, the red was a lot of fun to get of my sweatshirt ;)

Breakfast of champions right there...

A book written by all the ESPN sportscasters...
that should keep Jace occupied for quite awhile

Love this!!

While he was doing that Easton was off doing some coloring...no big deal, just whipped something up for the Grandpas. Rae then stole the sign and tried to play it off as hers...big sisters...sheesh!

After cards, presents and lots of "I love yous" we headed off for a hike and then home to watch the Twins and the US Open.
The Team at our turn around point...now back
where we came from!
Jace's new favorite book, "Are You My Mother?"
"Good Start Gentle Plus...mmm, sounds great, I'll have that"
I must have needed to brush my teeth...he could have just
offered me some gum...didn't have to be so rude
A perfect Father's Day I'm assuming because I can't really think of many other things, besides actually playing golf and baseball, that Jace enjoys more. I snuck off for a quick pedicure, did the laundry and then packed for my trip to Florida (I leave tomorrow morning). It was a beautiful day and my heart was so filled with love and happiness all day long!! So here are a few more pictures of our day...I hope you all had a great time celebrating with your fathers today...whether here with them or in your memories :)  LOVE YOU DAD!!

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
