Off to the doctor for 2
week checkup |
Two weeks down and we're growing! Easton had his first pediatrician appointment on Friday and was given a clean bill of health :) Everything's healthy with our "little homie" (yes, that's the nickname that Jace and I are currently subjecting Easton to - quite endearing if you ask me!) The doctor examined him from head to toe and he was such a trooper. Happy to report that he has gained 10 oz. since April 20th and now weighs 8 lbs, 2 oz., is 20.2 in long and his head is 14.69 in around. He's just a little peanut, checking in at 34th percentile for weight and 35th percentile for length (all percentiles from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) charts). His head size puts him in the 56th percentile...thanks, Jace, at least we can count on his pumpkin being a little larger!! ;) Also on the health front, Easton's circ is all healed and his umbilical cord fell out on Friday so we can now start using our cute little baby bathtub! Oh the small victories...

The week has been filled with a lot of other great moments, too. On Wednesday the 27th my Mom, now Grandma Bonnie, arrived to help us out for a week. It's been great having her here and it also allowed Jace to take quick weekend trip to see some friends in Key West. Um, yea, I'm jealous (and it was a decision we made together so don't hate). Grandma's been spoiling little homie with lots of hugs, kisses, cuddles and stroller rides! She even navigated the streets of Reading and Wilmington to pick up a late-night prescription for me. Yep, baby momma was sick last night...102 fever, chills, sweating and some serious engorgement - damn you mastitis! No fun but Tylenol broke my fever easily and now that I'm on my antibiotics I'm feeling a bit better. Got to say that I'm teetering on the edge of just breaking out the Similac! :)

Thursday was the NFL draft and Jace was SO excited to get Easton all dressed up in his Vikes gear...too bad it's still a little too big for him. Should be about perfect once the season rolls around (keeping fingers crossed that there will actually BE a season).

We have an exciting month ahead of us as Grandpa Dean arrives on May 5th, then Grandpa Doug comes to visit on the 9th and finally Grandma Jan rolls into town on the 16th. We'll be finished with our family visitors on the 19th. Jace is back to work this Tuesday and I'm still planning to be off until the middle of July - gotta love having 60+ days of leave on the books. Easton got a slot at the Hanscom Child Development Center starting the 6th of June so that's also very exciting for us. The childcare center is right across the street from my office so it will be nice to be able to walk over and see him throughout the day :) Well it's time for me to head off to nap-time...ah, reminds me of daycare at Ida's. Here are a few more pictures from the week. Enjoy!
