Bachelorette Week 1

Beautiful Friday sunset
One week down, one week to go until Jace gets home from Dayton. He's having a lot of fun cruising around our old stompin' grounds and we're keeping busy here. Our week here consisted of the same-ole', same-'ole so I won't bore you to death with the details. A few highlights include me taking/passing my first Air Command and Staff College test on Thursday, a "work from home" day on Friday (E got the boot from the CDC on Thurs afternoon - low fever/goop in his eye) and a fabulous dinner last night with Deanna Pieper, Gregg Flynn, and Brent and Lisa Olson @ Lucca in the North End. After being cooped up in the apartment for the majority of the week getting out for some adult time was wonderful. It was St. Agrippina di Mineo Feast and there were people EVERYWHERE so it was very crowded but also what I've come to expect during the summer feasts in the North End. Thx again for the invite, D! And another thanks to Brent and Gregg for being such gentlemen and walking me back to my car at the Coast Guard station so I wouldn't have to walk thru the North End alone! :)
It's like Hog Days but all the carnies are Italian
And now the randomness begins...

LT Tomlinson & Capt Rider - Two of Kewanee's finest!
This weekend was drill weekend for my pops the Navy LT. He does his one weekend a month down in Tucson, AZ. His NOSC doesn't have a dental clinic so the Navy and Air Force have an agreement that he can come over to use the dental clinic at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (they're co-located on Davis-Monthan, I think. Anyway one of the AF dentists assigned to DM is Capt Justin Rider...graduate of good ole Wethersfield High School class of '98 -- yep, we were classmates! Justin's dad, Dr. Steven Rider, was also a dentist in Kewanee while we all lived there.
Hangin with the VIPs! Way to go, Dad :)
On an unrelated note for all you amateur picture taker types out there... check out this fun photo entry contest by Ree "The Pioneer Woman". She posts different assignments, you can upload shots that fit the critera to a Flickr pool and then she pics some of her favorites. I just entered the latest "black and white" assignment and it's fun waiting to see if my picture gets highlighted. So I'm a nerd...tell me something I didn't know ;)

Alright if you've managed to trod your way through all that potentially prize-winning prose (that's a LOT of 'p's), here is your reward:
can't wait 'til he makes this face and means it...

new talent = slobbering all over myself while making
fart noises...seriously, funny @ any age

loves chewing on this poor giraffe's face

practicing for the back to front roll...slowly now, son, please

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
