Memorial Day Weekend 2012

Hello everyone and Happy Memorial Day! The Team would first like to say thank you to all our servicemen and women and their families for all the sacrifices they've made while serving our country...we salute you on this day of remembrance! We've had a fabulous four-day weekend and we're all sad to see Monday evening roll around because that means it's back to the grind tomorrow :( Thank goodness we've milked every minute out of this weekend and enjoyed some super fun family time!

We kicked the weekend off with a Friday afternoon couch shopping extravaganza and ended up buying this one...
You're welcome, Rosie. Glad we could start your holiday
weekend furniture slangin' off on the right foot.
P.S. I claim ALL rights to the chaise, Anders ;)

On Friday evening we headed down to Centerville for dinner at Andrew & Brit Ramsey's beautiful home. I didn't bring my camera because, well, it's a little intimidating to bring a camera around these two...I mean really...just take a look at their work: Ramsey Photography. So anyway, Brit and Andrew just had twin boys, Harrison & Jack, on March 8th and they left MA before Easton made his debut so we had a great evening of exchanging baby stories and catching up on the happenings from their previous assignment at NPS. Their home was as beautiful as expected and the meal...marvelous!! Thanks you guys :)

Saturday took us south once again for Easton's swim lesson. It was Mommy's turn to get in the pool this time and the two of us had a blast. I think he swallowed a considerable amount of the pool based on the huge burp he let out about 20 minutes into class...but at least he isn't afraid to put his face in the water ;) After that we all got cleaned up and yep, you got it, got BACK on I-675 S bound for Miamisburg and the high school graduation open house for one of the players Jace coached when we were here the last time. Now you're probably thinking, oh how nice, another high school graduation...but this one was incredibly special. If you have some time, a strong stomach and a box of tissues read Billy Madewell's story. There were some incredibly proud people in that room and I could see how much it meant to Jace to be there for him!
All grown up! Well at least the back row...

Surprise!!! Thanks for everything, Coach Jace :)

Also of note, Easton might be dating already...not sure...you decide... If he is I think I need to talk to him about his manners. 1. offer the lady a drink, 2. wear some shoes, homie!

Easton and Ava...
We continued the baseball theme after we got home and put Easton down...no...get your mind out of the gutter...we watched Moneyball! SPOILER ALERT: Not a bad flick but how in the he** does one turn down $12.5M and a job with the Red Sox? Dumb move buddy.

On Sunday we decided to switch it up a bit and head north to Troy. I know, crazy right? Summer ball is in full effect around these parts and we wanted to go catch a few innings of a few other past players. This was Easton's first baseball game and boy was it HOT! We only stayed for a few innings because of the temps but it was a lot of fun.

Picnic!!! Oh and sorry if I blinded you...is it evident that I work indoors?

Easton and Gary clapping for the batters
This little car is the best thing ever!! Pretty
sure I've said that already but I'm saying it again.
The best part of Sunday was that I actually go to talk to my dad!!! He called around 5:30 PM (6:30 AM, Monday his time) and sounded great. They can't stay on the phone too long but I got enough time with him to know he's enjoying himself and excited to get to Indonesia soon to begin time in the dental clinic. Here's a quick reference map of how far away he is...from Hawaii let alone from AZ, OH, IL or the DR!!

Today found us being lazy around the house and catching up on all the chores we neglected. I did some yoga...and then Easton did some too.
Downward Dog

Yoga block...also fun to pick up and carry all over the house.

And off he goes...

I can't stay in the house all day long so Easton and I took a quick break and headed down to The Greene and played around in the dancing fountain.
Just a sample photo. I'll get one of Smallz sometime...
I couldn't take pictures because I was all by myself but I can show you what he wore...
The shirt was a weeee bit tight going over
that large melon...

Yes those are SHORTS...

Hey!

Look at that belly...adorable...
We've spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out and enjoying our new home. We are absolutely loving it here. We've finished decorating the dining room and got a grill and a few chairs for the back patio. Our couch comes on Wednesday and we're ready for visitors so come on over!!!
Kid sized plastic Adirondack chair!

So happy (ignore the drool...more teeth a comin')

And here's a look at the ones he has :)

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
