The Sun Once Shined Here

We had a brief two-day relief from this nagging winter weather two weekends ago (yes, I'm terribly late with this post).  It was a very welcomed warm up considering we had a snow day (yea, base closed and the whole nine) on Wednesday the 6th.  Weekends + warm weather = RAD.

Yes, RAD. I love that word. (Thx, Hollister)

First we went down to the Ramsey's house to celebrate Jack & Harrison's first birthdays.  I took zero pictures (go figure) but the party was super fun and the decorations for the party were adorable...it was like we stepped right into the central memory storage of Pinterest.  Also, for those of you who live around this area the chocolate cupcakes from Earth Fare are PHENOMENAL. I'm trying to figure out how many is a respectable number to order for E's b-day...probably two dozen...for Mommy...I suppose E can have a bite...maybe.

Anyway, we didn't last long there though because Easton hit a wall around 1 o'clock..."no naps" turned into "must nap!"

Yes, you can nap...AFTER we take this family photo
TEAM ANDERS LOVES PLAID
When he woke up we went for a walk behind our little community where we found lots of rocks, puddles and mud. "Springtime" with a curious little boy...I may buy some stock in P&G here soon.
Easton loved throwing these rocks

And playing on the snow piles
And pushing his car.
You mean you don't want me to carry you the rest of your life?
What??

Easton's shoes -1.  Mommy - 0.

We finally pried the rocks from his hands...
to be quickly replaced by snowballs
"get you, mommy"
And then this cute little jerk just runs off...
where is your father? (smile)

We spent the rest of the day goofing off in our back yard and then we hit the sack...dang Daylight Savings Time!

Easton modeling his new car jammies
Ignore my face...seriously...just ignore it
Sunday started with a plate full of wakkles...

ww.....akkles!
...and continued with more awesome weather!  We packed up the truck and headed to one of the parks we discovered during our Cabin Fever recon mission. It made us all very happy to be out & about!!  Just look at all those smiles (and consider me very smiley behind the camera, too).

We were afraid he was going to puke he swung so much!
It was all smiles until this little guy took one...more...step...NOOOOO...
It was hilarious watching him look for rocks to throw in the puddle. :)
...and park time was quickly over as he was totally freaked out and standing in a big, squishy puddle of mud up to his knees. Mickey shoes got a workout...

We got home, got dried off, had a snack, read some books and then it was time for a nap.  He usually goes down around 1 or 1:30 and sleeps until 3 or so...about 1.5 to 2 hrs.  I bought him a new nap time outfit because he's been fiddling around with his diaper so this adorable, yet embarrassing, romper locks that sucker down :)
Just got up and already zooming outdoors...

We spent the rest of the day just playing indoors/outdoors, upstairs and down. The windows were open, my springtime candles were burning...it was goodness :)  And then Sunday night rolled around...spaghetti night.  I say that like it's a tradition or something. It isn't. It was just time to bust out the red sauce for my own entertainment mostly. See?
Doesn't matter whether he's 13, 17 or 23 months old...
kiddo wears that spaghetti sauce quite well!
I also wanted to document that I managed to squeeze
in a run during his nap. Yep. Shocked the heck outta me
too so don't feel bad.

So that was pretty much how we spent our lovely, springtime tease of a weekend.  More to come on how evil Mother Nature was following those two days. :)

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
