After today's earlier post I'm running short on time so gonna hit you all up with the Cliff Notes version of my week and Easton's 21st week of life (plus I'm sure you're in need of a break from my ramblings...it's really a win for both sides). 1. Went back to the doctor for E's 2-week weigh in after switching formula. Result = zero weight gain. #momfail So...it's on to two servings of rice cereal and an extra bottle @ night. Recent culinary explorations include sweet potatoes and avocados - both a smashing success! (VIDEO BELOW) Yea, I want that, quit asking and FEED ME Thx, Dad. On second thought...just give me the dang spoon Enter "sibling" rivalry Such a tease... 2. It's the start of the NFL season so Jace taught Easton a little about his favorite hobby... Discussing the finer points of the fantasy draft...I'd restrict it to football BUT I do believe Jace even has a fantasy cricket team so k...

September 11th - 10 Years Later

September 11th...always a day filled with deep reflection and, certainly, plenty of longing for the way things "used to be". Sadly, I honestly can't remember the pre-9/11 world since I've lived all but two years of my adult life in a post-9/11 military. Unlike numerous events that my memory struggles to recall, I don't even need to close my eyes and try to replay that Tuesday morning ten years ago today. I don't want to dwell on the topic but I do want to quickly document my memories because, if you know me, there's a chance I may not remember my name in another 10 years. As I was walking down the hall I saw a few people's televisions displaying crazy "B...

Back to Front

Pork chops and funnel cakes and carnies OH MY!! Happy Hog Days 2011 (despite what the shirt says) Thanks to everyone for their texts, emails and calls to check on us last week as Irene made her way through New England. We emerged unscathed and the power only flickered once so we consider ourselves pretty lucky. Honestly, the weather never got too bad here in Reading...just sheets of rain and some wind. Also, Easton is doing much better with his new non-swaddled sleep and formula though he's still spitting up some. We go back to the doctor this Tuesday to see if he reached his weight gain goal (20g/day). I think he has and so do his teachers at school but we'll see if the scale agrees. I'm on my back... WHOA...and now I'm on my tummy!!! (check out the video at the end of this blog to see how this might have happened) Slowly learning how to prop myself up with my arms :) Mommy and me :) We've had a very fun Labor Day (a.k.a. Hog Days...
