Pork chops and funnel cakes and
carnies OH MY!!
Happy Hog Days 2011 (despite what the shirt says)
Thanks to everyone for their texts, emails and calls to check on us last week as Irene made her way through New England. We emerged unscathed and the power only flickered once so we consider ourselves pretty lucky. Honestly, the weather never got too bad here in Reading...just sheets of rain and some wind. Also, Easton is doing much better with his new non-swaddled sleep and formula though he's still spitting up some. We go back to the doctor this Tuesday to see if he reached his weight gain goal (20g/day). I think he has and so do his teachers at school but we'll see if the scale agrees.

I'm on my back...

WHOA...and now I'm on my tummy!!!
(check out the video at the end of this blog to see
how this might have happened)
Slowly learning how to prop myself up with my arms :)

Mommy and me :)

We've had a very fun Labor Day (a.k.a. Hog Days) weekend so far...it's amazing the good times that happen when we're both in town together! We went to a BBQ on Friday hosted by our great friends Frank & Erin Schiavone. Congrats to them as they announced they're expecting baby #2 in March 2012!!!
Easton (4 months) and Frankie Schiavone (19 months)
Frankie's practicing how to be a big brother !!! :)
Yesterday was the first Saturday of college football, whoo hoo! I love the fact that fall is right around the corner. Easton and I spent a few hours learning about the B-1, Troy Calhoun and how great Colorado is while watching the Falcons beat South Dakota 37-20. No shortage of Air Force gear in this house!!!
Welcome to our classroom. Easton, this is the "Bone".

And this is Troy Calhoun...there will be a quiz.

Inspired by Mr. Lucas Ray Powers and Mr. PT Malone,
Easton is the newest owner of some sweet Nike onesies!

It's never too early for Nike :)

Also, as you may have noticed we got Easton a new toy...his Laugh & Learn Jumperoo! So cute :)
Ready to learn how to use my legs, Daddy!

Still a little short but this blanket
works just fine

Working on getting my feet flat on the floor

Plenty of toys to keep me learning

Oh, and I also got a new Tommee Tippie cup :)

Last night Crystal and I took the guys out to dinner at Cuchi Cuchi in Cambridge, MA. Two years ago it was the scene of an epic girls night (one we've tried to recreate numerous times with no luck) so we thought we'd show Jace and Pete this restaurant we talk about non-stop. It's a "small plates" restaurant, so we each ordered two dishes and shared with the table. We had a tasty combo of brie cheese, fried potato balls, shrimp, beef and chicken...then topped it off with a heavenly banana bread dessert. Needless to say we were all ready for bed by the end of that meal! Good times...GREAT friends! :)
Date Night!!!
Today's been filled with a lot of fun as Jace's cousin Charlie and his girlfriend Erin have come over for a visit. They're out for an East Coast visit and came by to meet Smallz! We're getting ready to grill some hamburgers and watch the Twins...it's been a great Sunday so far :)
Chuck M., Jace & Smallz

Sweet Chili Doritos...like crack in a bag

The two E's...Erin & Easton :)

Rae gettin some lovin, too!
Jace and I hope you all are enjoying your long weekend. We'll leave you with a video that highlights the last few weeks in Easton's world :) Be safe out there!

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
