30 Down, 10 to Go...

30 weeks!
So we've made it to 30 weeks - holy crap!!!  We've started seeing our doctor every 2 weeks now as this scary event called childbirth rapidly approaches! I'm weighing in at a solid 136 lbs these days which is an increase of about 15 lbs so far. Our doctor told me to get ready for the pounds to come as Baby Anders will double his weight in this third and final trimester. I read on our weekly BabyCenter email today that if the baby kept growing at his current rate he'd weigh 200 lbs by his 1st birthday. Yikes!

Physically, I'm feeling pretty good and able to get a few walks in per week for some sort of exercise but I CANNOT wait to get back to running.  I think I might just sprint around the apartment complex once I'm back to normal!! Being uncomfortable most of the day is getting old fast but the fear of labor is what weighs most heavily on my mind these days.  It's just so overwhelming to think about - so I won't/don't.  So far no problems with heartburn, swelling, lack of sleep or any of that annoying stuff - yeay! Baby Anders continues to act like a Cirque de Soleil performer in my belly - loves, loves, LOVES to kick Mommy in the ribs randomly.  It scares the crap out of me...and everyone else around me when I jump or let out an unexpected "whoa!" in the middle of a meeting.  Yea, so professional, I know! ;)

Forest Friends by Carter
The nursery furniture has been delivered and set up and is now waiting on my mother's finishing touches.  I'll post more pictures after she works her magic - I cannot wait!   So far we've received a few gifts from friends and family and as they pile up in the nursery we're like "this is real, isn't it?"!  We're both getting pretty excited to meet him. Anyway, that's about it from here on the preggers front, hope all is well with you and yours and that you didn't have to shovel TOO much snow over the last 24 hrs!

  1. So exciting!!! I think the anticipation of the labor is worse than the actual labor. Well...maybe not, but almost! It will be great. Get the epidural :-)

  2. haha, yes the random kicks during meetings. I have scared my boss a number of times, I think he thought I was going into labor ;o) 30 weeks is a big milestone, 3/4 of the way there! although it slows down big time as D-day nears and you know that baby can come anyday, but just chooses not to...
The nursery furniture looks cute so far, I love the owl stuff

  4. Ali-Molly is right...the anticipation of labor is much worse than the actual labor. I know not all women have a pleasant experience, but I do hope that you do. I had contractions all day long (I finally realized what they were as they got stronger, but I really wasn't sure at first) and we finally went into the hospital at 630pm they were 2-3 minutes apart lasting 1-1.5 minutes. Apparently I have a high tolerance for pain, I would guess that you do as well based on the fact that you've always been pretty athletic. I spent 8 hours in the hospital with some drugs and then the epidural at 4am. Mitchell was born at 730am after only half an hour of pushing and it didn't even seem that long. Just wanted to give you a positive story and again, I hope that you will have the same!

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
