Surprise...It's Team Anders' Baby Shower!

Thanks to my wonderful husband and our amazing friends Pete Foster & Crystal Ornelas (herein referred to as "The Fosters") Baby Anders had a wonderful baby shower yesterday!  I should have suspected something was up with all the super secret phone calls Jace says he was making but, sadly, I was oblivious to his schemes.  Our friend Polly Sandness was in town and we had been on an absolute Dunkin' Donuts bender so Jace suggested we head out and get some real food at a local restaurant's brunch. I was excited about that (yep, pregnant lady excited to eat - so strange) so got all dressed up to match Jace's unusually dapper attire and off we went.  Polly mentioned she wanted to swing by the apartment's clubhouse just to check out our amenities.  Being an absolute real estate voyeur myself I appreciated her request to snoop around so was happy to oblige.

After we got out of the car I noticed a sign that said "Baby Shower around back" and began to put the pieces together. Crystal met us around back and let us in to the club room where everyone was waiting with a huge "SURPRISE!".  I was most definitely surprised and so excited to see everyone!  The "Fosters" had prepared a wonderful spread of fruit, bagels, muffins and a cake to accompany the OJ, Dunkin' coffee, champagne, Heineken and Coors Light.  The room was decorated with baby boy colors and Jace and I were all smiles.

Pete and Crystal we can't say thank you enough for bringing everyone together to help us celebrate the arrival of our soon to be "rookie".  As a military couple it's a bit heartbreaking to be so far away from family during such a special time in our lives but you made us feel like we really do have a family here in Boston.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!  Love you :)

Before I get to all the pictures I'd like to highlight the gift we received from Brent and Lisa Olson. We are going to have professional photos taken of Baby Anders once he arrives and I've been obsessed with finding some cute, knit newborn photo props.  Lisa created a few hand-knit items for us (baby cocoon, hat & diaper cover combo and another button hat) and I'd like to take a second to give her business "LoveBug by Auntie L" a quick plug.  Lisa is SUPER talented and if you're looking for some cute baby gear check out her blog or if you're on Facebook search for LoveBug by Auntie L and become a fan!  Thanks, Lisa. :)

So here are some pictures from the event.  I tried my best to include shots of all the people who celebrated with us, photos of us opening everyone's gifts and some closeups of the clothes we received. Enjoy!!

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
