Impact Player

Easton's been kickin' it on the Team Anders roster for a solid four weeks now and I think Jace and I can safely say he's become an impact player.  It's been quite an entertaining month watching him go through so many changes already...some super fun, some not so much.  Falling distinctly in the "fun" category would be watching (and feeling) him change physically.  His little little pumpkin has changed from looking like a bullet to, well, looking more like a round, semi-little (have you seen my husband's head?) pumpkin.  Not making the "fun" list would be the transition in Little Homie's diaper output as we've transitioned from breast milk to formula.  My ever-articulate co-captain stated so perfectly this morning... "I'm glad I'm not a diaper!"

This past week was my father's turn to visit his new grandson and it was 3 solid days of straight-up gluttony for Easton!  The combo of a 3-week growth spurt and a softy grandfather equated to Easton eating, eating and eating some more in grandpa's arms.  We laughed about how much he ate for 3 days straight...here's the evidence:

It was absolutely wonderful having my dad here with us this week.  I almost had to go buy a crowbar to get Easton out of his arms (not complaining, just sayin') and he also took the midnight feedings so Jace and I could get some much needed shut-eye. Absolutely made me melt when I'd go to sleep at 9 PM and wake up around 3 AM to find little man "grandpa swaddled" in his swing waiting for his next 3 oz of the good stuff.  Thank you so much, Dad!!

It was such a joy for me to be able to have both my parents meet our son.  I know it sounds incredibly cheesy but I feel like some indescribable aspect of my life has been completed or achieved (I warned you of the cheese).  Now I just need to learn to deal with the fact that they live ALMOST all the way across the country... :(  Grandma Jan arrives on Monday and that's the last of our visitors for a solid month.

Some other happening over the course of the week that I must mention before signing off today.

1.)  HUGE congrats to two of our closest friends Joey & Catie Locallo.  They welcomed their first son Jack Joseph Locallo @ 8:43 PM on May 12th.  Catie and I (and Jace & Joe) had so much fun sharing the "joys of pregnancy" together as our due dates were only 3.5 weeks apart.  Hey, weren't you two in Cali with us about say... uh... 9 months ago?  LOL ;)

 2. Big day today as we took Easton out for our first meal in public.  Thanks to Pete and Crystal's nudging we finally broke down and headed off to Christopher's a local breakfast spot in Reading...and it was a huge success!  Topped it off with a friendly game of "Credit Card Roulette" and it's been a winning Saturday!

3.) Had our orientation at the Hanscom Child Development Center and got to meet Easton's new "teacher".  Jace and I were both really happy with her and are looking forward to him starting there soon.  He'll start part-time on June 6th...I'm hoping if I start taking him there part-time first it'll make it a little easier to start back to work later in July.  Here's to hoping...

4.) I discovered our son likes to dance
