Splish, Splash!

The pool @ Hanscom - not bad actually
Two weeks ago we tried to sign Easton up for swim lessons but were disappointed to hear that the class was full. Bumma...but I stuck our name on the wait list anyway. Fast forward to last Thursday. The pool manager called to tell me two people had dropped out. BAM!! Little Homie's going to learn himself how to swim! ;) So for the next five Saturdays if you need to find us we'll be at the pool -  definitely going to be some 'p' in that 'ool'. ;)

Props to my hubby - and he even commented on how
good the light was...ata boy, Jace!
If ya'll didn't know, brushing our hair on Saturday is optional
As for yesterday's lesson, Easton did pretty well considering the water was only about 82 degrees. Great if you're swimming laps - not so great if you're a 6 1/2 month old baby (or a 30-something year old parent - both of us were cold, too). The "class" consisted of a lot of singing and swooshing them around - not quite ready to stick his face in the water yet so we passed on that segment. We sang "This is the way we wash our clothes" to splash him with water to get his arms wet, then we sang some other random jams that moved his body around and got him to kick. Then it was time for "Wheels on the Bus"...and that's when he took a rather left-field interpretation of the song as "The Wheels on the Bus...Fall Off Real Fast" b/c that's exactly what happened! It finally registered that he was freezing AND hungry so we didn't even need the third strike to be out. Exit Team Anders. See ya next week, teach...(oh and BTW we're bringing the grandparents!)

You can't really see it but their trunks kind of match
Cute :)
The "scoop & pull" segment of the class
This was about two minutes prior to his meltdown -
not even a red octopus could save us!
Just loved this photo so had to keep it in here - seriously though,
how fair is this little munchkin, sheesh?
Once we got home and all warmed up it was time to mentally prepare for the Air Force/Army game...and glad we did because it was an U-G-L-Y first half. Thankfully the Falcons managed to turn it around and ended up beating the Black Knights 24-14 and will keep the Commander In Chief's trophy for one more year ("Off We Go..." with appropriate clapping...). Congrats to the team and staff!!

Practicing for those 4-degree pushups someday...

Mom's cue that someone's hungry

Starts here...

Works on getting up on his knees here...

And then finds a roadblock :)
And I'll leave you with a few randoms from the week:

If you ever come over to our house on Thursday this is what you'll find -
Jace calls it "Fantasy Thursday" and is giddy from the moment he
wakes up until he sets his teams for the week - Easton was helping this time!

We tried some mashed up bananas "sans spoon" - made us too nervous
to try too many but he liked licking his fingers afterwards

Came home Friday to find Smallz sleeping Al Bundy style

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
