Steady...Steady...

Look, friends, I'm standing all by my dang self!!!
Hope everyone's doing alright without that extra hour of sleep last night! I know it's thrown us for a bit of a loop here but we're managing. Smallz has been one ball 'o hot mess today. Not sure if it's due to the time change, his top front two teeth finally breaking through his gums or his cough that seems to be progressing beyond the normal daycare hack. Waaaa...Easton!! In between his fussy spells he's had a great day today though. The sun was shining and the temperature was high enough for us all to get out for a long walk. It was great - and Rae sure appreciated it, too (as she snoozes away curled up by Jace on the couch).

It's been an exciting weekend around the Anders house. March Madness is upon us and E is so close to taking his first steps. I'm not sure who's more excited right now...Easton or Mr. Bracketologist himself.
All I hear from the other room is ESPN and the
"click, click...click, click" of his pen
He was nice enough to pause for this picture - thx, Babe
Fun times on the nearly walking front, though. E loves to cruise all over the house as he barely holds on to our hands. When we practice standing with him he makes it about 1-2 seconds and crashes but smiles and laughs. It's awesome.

Ba Boom! Thanks for the spot, DK :)
Since I finished Air Command and Staff College last Sunday and people are starting to exist at work without me (no tears shed there) I've had a lot more time to focus on other things in my life. It's been great. I actually went to the gym once on my own last week. Yea big whoop, 1 time, but got to start somewhere, right?

I've also been starting to think about Easton's 1-year birthday that's coming up and found a fabulous bakery where I'm going to have his cake made. It's called Cake Period in Lexington and, given my new found free time, I took a field trip there this weekend. It smelled like heaven. Now I just need to decide on what to decorate the cake with and I can go back and order it! Yeay. So far I think something like this is what I'm after...but only the first layer because I don't want to have to take out a loan for a cake!

I've also been able to start cooking again which has made me feel a bit more normal. Tonight I tried out a Martha recipe for Spicy Coconut Chicken Casserole but sadly I wasn't a fan. Turned out incredibly bland - probably because I skimped on the curry paste but nonetheless I'll be deleting this one from the favorites bar. The veggies look pretty good though, right?
No, the recipe didn't call for Pinot...
that was for the cook :)
Well that's probably enough rambling for tonight...plus Mr. Bracketologist is in need of the internet so I'll wrap it up. Here are a TON of photos from the week -- told you I got my free time back!!! Here's also a link to the full album because I've been going nuts lately and didn't want to attach them all to this post. Have a great week!!!
Always laughin' at Daddy :)

Hi Rae!

Doesn't go in the Jumperoo anymore but LOVES to play under it

Scaling the wall for his toys

This is what he looks like when we bring him home from school...
still refuses to nap so he sleeps from 5:30 - 5:30 to catch back up

Track Suit Friday!!!

All he needs now are some jazz hands

Movin' with a purpose
Crazy, freaky, happy face!

Went for a swing today but he was so sleepy he barely smiled :(

I think Jace scared the kids away from the playground

Lil' Gopher hat finally fits!!

Hangin' on the back patio

Comin' to get you, Dad!

Pause for a break...the grass is weird on my hands

Easton waving hello

His favorite "look like Daddy" pose

Maybe he'll be a mechanic someday...

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
