Yeay! December!! Our tree has been up since the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Christmas tunes have been playing since around then, too (thanks 94.5 FM). I'm pretty excited for the holidays this year because it will be the first time I'll get to spend it with my family since 2009 (I think). Regardless, the house is decorated, everyone's got a stocking and we're ready for a great time! Here's a quick look at our weekend. Good times had by all -- though the rain totally ruined a nearly 60 degree day today (ugh).
Friday was great. I left work at 4 so I could meet Jace for a mini date night. We classed it up and swapped out our usual "got out of work early let's grab a bite/drink" spot from Buffalo Wild Wings to TGI Fridays...WHAT? WHAT?
Friday night toothbrushing inspired Mommy & Daddy
to cut Little Homie's hair the next morning. So we did.
Saturday:
On Saturday afternoon, post haircut, the Budweiser Clydesdales were at the
Museum so we headed over for a quick visit. He talks about "neigh, neighs"
all the time so we thought he may like to meet one.
Nope. Get this kid a Sun City West address...
No "neigh, neighs" gimme the Bud car.
Just tell yourself he's smiling and having a grand 'ole time
They also have airplanes on display outdoors so we took a stroll
down to the C-17 and back. It was lovely and the people watching couldn't be beat.

After the kiddo was down I finally got to read my first Click magazine published by ClickinMoms. Totally loving this community and the magazine had a fabulous article on tips and tricks to incorporate myself into some of our family photos. The article was inspiring and luckily my sweet parents sent me a tripod for my birthday so I'm now on a mission.
Sunday:
Me. Blogging with a good friend. I love him the most during winter.
Early morning "moo" session. iPad = moo in this house. Well more like
"moo, moo, moo, moo, moo, moo...." until he gets it. A+ parenting, I'm sure
See!? how can you turn down that face? Hopefully he can read by the
time he enters kindergarten (or whenever kids learn to read?)

It was rainy today so there wasn't too much to do besides practice our "ready, set, gooooos" with Daddy...
And play with a box of Cheerios...
No one saw this coming did they? Sadly I didn't and the look on Jace's
face was priceless. I'm pretty sure he was thrilled to have married me
in that moment :)

Jace and I welcomed our son Easton Douglas to the world this past Saturday, April 16th at 4:22 PM and we couldn't be more proud. It was an awesome experience...not so much in the "incredibly cool, can't wait to do it again" context but genuinely in AWE of how mother nature and modern medicine can work together to ease a woman and efficiently deliver a baby. Before I tell you all a little bit about our story (again, no worries, I won't blast all the nitty gritty across your screen) I must say a HUGE thank you to our staff at Winchester Hospital. Though I know not a single of of those doctors, nurses and other staff members will read this they will forever hold a special place in our hearts for the outstanding service and love they showed all three of us!! They exceeded any expectations Jace and I might have had and just had to throw that out there. ...
Jace has been in MN since Thursday braving the cold with Team Franchise at the 2011 US Pond Hockey Championship . The team made it to Sunday again this year but unfortunately couldn't get by the "Pulled Hammies" this morning to advance to the finals. Better luck next year, boys! :( So, since he's been gone I've been catching up on projects around the homestead since it's been so damn cold outside. On Thursday night I scanned in about 80 old family photos that I had received over the years from my Aunt Kathleen. I decided to do this because I'm building an online baby book for mini-Ma$e and you can add pictures - thought it'd be fun to add some old family photos. We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!
