The Arizona Sun

When did we get so old?
Sunshine. It's been in short supply around these parts so I figured I'd hop a flight to Arizona and join my family for a mid-winter re-charge. It was wonderful. I even got to spend a few hours with my bestie Sam, her husband Fred and their kiddos while knocking out a five-hour layover in Dallas. Many people buy souvenirs at the airport but I didn't need to buy anything to remember that stop...I'll just live with the embarrassing memory of getting my butt-kicked by her four and a half year old.

The trip was a little difficult for me because I left Jace behind with a sick little homie -- so sick he got the boot from daycare and Jace had to take him to the doctor all by himself. Easton hates the doctor's office...and I'm sure they love having him there...so I felt super guilty, but what's new?

Guilt aside it was pure bliss to be in the presence of my family for a few days. I lack the words to adequately describe how comforting it is to just be in my parents' home, to just relax and be taken care of by my mom and dad. We talked and loved, completed some tasks they needed help with and did a lot of lounging with Liberty on the back patio.
Enjoying a cool morning with my mama.
We've got to figure out a way to do this more often!

Sometimes she'd change location but the loungin' kept consistent

These are just pretty :)
When it got too cold outside we moved the "party" indoors

Getting our Wheel of Fortune on. If you know my parents
you know this is a sacred time.

What is that bright, shiny object in the sky?

Out for a stroll with Libby-Lou
With the two hour time change I found myself up with the sun each morning. That was alright though because I managed to get some decent photos of the sunrise over the golf course and lake.

And the dusk wasn't too be missed so I often grabbed the camera at night to try to capture some of the beautiful Parada Drive scenery. My parents have the most wonderful back patio!

It's tragic how quickly three days pass and you find yourself at the airport once again...

Love you Mom, Dad & Jeff!!

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
