"L" is for Jace

Easton's pretty solid with his numbers up to about 16 or 17...from there it often jumps to 35, 28 or right on back to 1.  He loves numbers. Check. We'll keep working our way to 20, buddy. But there are also these rascally little things called LETTERS!

We've had these magnetic letters on our fridge for quite a while. Up 'til now all he's wanted to do was eat them. As nutritionally balanced as they may be we decided to hold off until he was older...more mature... Well that time has arrived!  They must be working on learning letters at school (#parentfail b/c I'm not exactly sure what's in their current lesson plans) because he asked to play with them yesterday and it was super fun..."A" is for awesome!  We broke them out again this afternoon and Easton then informed me that "L" stands for Jace...and "V" stands for Tiger "ROAR"...and listening to him say "umbrella" is RAD.

The paparazzi then followed him into the bathtub. They can be so nosy sometimes...

I get about .5 seconds to wash his hair/body before I have to get out
of the way from the bazillion objects being thrown here and there...
washcloth + wadding up + two-hand throw = "big splashes"

And you can tell this is totally staged because this ball is never at rest
in this bathtub. It probably hits the wall above the faucet 500 times in
10 minutes. Yea. That's fast!

Ok so the other reason for the paparazzi following him into the bathroom was to document the progress he's making with potty training.  Progress is more like a few baby steps -- he'll sit on the toddler potty and can go if coaxed with some warm water but yet to really commit to it -- but dang if he isn't an A+ toilet flusher! Makes his damn day to flush the potty and wave bye-bye to his imaginary "pee-pee" and "poops"...

That's one proud smile. Great job, kiddo.
We'll bill you for the water in a few years.
Action shot. This is what toddler heaven looks like.

Always finishes with "I did it, I did it!"
After all that learning and flushing it was time to relax with Mickey...and all his gang at the Clubhouse.

And that's a quick look at our evening...Grandma and Grapes are back from their Italian adventure tomorrow...YEAY!!!

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
