Summer Lovin'

Teams Anders and Mink have been slackin in the hangout department but the stars aligned last weekend -- hip, hip, hooray!!! eDougie Fresh and I were able to get over to Sam & Sara's on Sunday afternoon for a lovely little backyard BBQ and, as usual, we had a blast!!

We started on the swings...can you believe these little nuggets are big enough to swing on these "big kid" swings now? (very slowly but still...come ON?!!)

These next two pictures were taken almost one year ago...August 25th, 2012.

After the two crazies had enough with the swings...it was time to bounce!

Kathleen has the bluest eyes!!! I'm glad she doesn't mind my camera in her face :)
And eventually it was time to eat Sara's scrumptious food.  She made chicken kabobs (chicken, garden-fresh veggies, EVOO, S&P, basil) and sweet corn that had just been picked that weekend from her uncle's farm. Hands down the best corn on the cob I've ever eaten. Truth!
I obviously still need work on photo composition...
Table for 2!  Kathleen's face is priceless :)
"Airplane fly in the sky, Mommy?"
The kiddos scarfed down their food...well they scarfed it down after we told them they couldn't bounce or have ice cream if they didn't scarf down their food. Mission accomplished and it was back to bounce for a few more rounds before dessert.

I brought a homemade peach/blueberry pie and vanilla ice cream for dessert.  I'm sure those of you who are friends with me on Facebook or follow on Instagram are about sick of hearing about this pie but come on...I made a pie!

And what goes better with chicken kabobs, sweet corn and pie on a warm summer day? If you answered Sauvignon Blanc you are correct.  Sam & Sara got this delivered in their wine of the month shipment and it was outstanding! Sadly, I can't find anyone who sells it in Ohio so, Kim, I'm comin' back to ya ;)

I hope you all have had a wonderful summer -- the kids are back to school around here already!!!

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
