That's A Wrap!

After mommy's 1st day back...suppose I should make
an attempt to do my hair next week...meh, we'll see...
Back to the working world this week...ugh, reality check in full force! After 11 weeks of maternity leave it was time to throw on the old uni and head back to the office. I hadn't planned on starting until Monday the 11th but I've got to attend some meetings on the road this coming week so I needed to get caught up in Office Space. All I've got to say is thank goodness we started Easton at daycare earlier in June or I'm pretty sure I would have been an emotional wreck. My job responsibilities have grown since I left and as it turned out by Friday I was pretty happy to be back. Definite negative is the drastically reduced time I get with little homie. Since he goes to bed so early I only get to play with him for about 1.5-2 hrs before bedtime...boo.

So cute in his swaddle! E's sleeping thru the night still -
7:30 PM to 5:00 AM!!! Yeay, sleep :)

In keeping with the "It's A Wrap" theme this week also included another milestone for me as my Active Duty Service Commitment (ADSC) has expired. When a service member moves from one duty station to the next they generally incur a two-year ADSC which essentially allows the Gov't to recoup the cost of the move. What that means is as of Friday I am no longer obligated to remain in the Service...it is entirely our choice until my next promotion date (which won't come for a solid year to year and a half). That's the nice part about being an officer, that I don't have to sign another "contract" to stay in...I just stay or go. It's such an interesting feeling to know that, for the next two years or so, the decision to stay is all up to Team Anders not Team Uncle Sam ;) But I'm not planning on getting out any time soon...9 years down, 11 to go and HELLO retirement! With the economic woes our country is facing, though, it should be interesting to see what military retirements look like in the next 10 years.

On the Easton front all is well. He knocked out another first this week with his first explosive diarrhea...unfortunately for the teachers of Room 10, he decided to share that experience with them :( Little homie...(shaking my head and laughing). He turned 12-weeks old today and I can't believe it! We have so much fun with him everyday and it never gets old watching him observe the world around him and learn new things. My favorite thing lately is to watch him watch the light/sound machine that hangs on the bars of his activity mat. He follows the blinking lights and bats at the little bees suspended from the middle...so cute to watch his eyes dart all over the place and make these serious faces as he concentrates!

Here's some recent photos:

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
