Hello hello!! I think I'm still riding the sugar high of yesterday's cookie swap at Brent & Lisa Olson's house. It was the perfect Christmas get together. Just check out all the yummy goodness from yesterday's swap! I brought Chocolate Candy Cane cookies.
These are the cookies I brought. They started like this...
and then I added the homemade buttercream frosting and
rolled them in crushed candy canes and got this!!
p.s. I added mini chocolate chips to the frosting ;)
I've never seen so many sugar cookies in my entire life!

What a fun time...and we all left with a Christmas platter full of decorated sugar cookies and a ginormous Gladware plastic tub full of all the cookies you saw above. Sadly, Jace and I have continued to stuff these treats into our bellies today but come tomorrow these are all headed to the office with me!
The day was also fun because Emily and Mike Phillipich brought their two little girls, Claire and Lauren, to the party so Easton had some friends to play with. Lauren and Easton were due on the same day but Lauren arrived two weeks before Easton. It was fun to see how different they are and to chat with Emily about what Lauren's up to at about the same age as Easton.

So today's been absolutely nutzola because Team Anders is about ready to move to our new house! Yes, it's true, we're about to be Hanscom's newest residents. It'll be our first foray into living on base but we have been feeling the squeeze with Easton getting more mobile, it totally stinks to not have an extra bedroom for our family and/or friends wanting to visit and the commute in the afternoon was about ready to drive me batty (or more batty than I already am) so Hanscom here we come. We should sign our lease to our three bedroom house on Wednesday and then will slowly move over the next two weeks. Super exciting! I sent an email out with our new address so if you didn't get it I either 1. don't have your address or 2. didn't think you cared about our address. Well that's enough blah, blah, blah for one evening, no? Just one last thing before I sign off though (cue the videos)...

Jace and I welcomed our son Easton Douglas to the world this past Saturday, April 16th at 4:22 PM and we couldn't be more proud. It was an awesome experience...not so much in the "incredibly cool, can't wait to do it again" context but genuinely in AWE of how mother nature and modern medicine can work together to ease a woman and efficiently deliver a baby. Before I tell you all a little bit about our story (again, no worries, I won't blast all the nitty gritty across your screen) I must say a HUGE thank you to our staff at Winchester Hospital. Though I know not a single of of those doctors, nurses and other staff members will read this they will forever hold a special place in our hearts for the outstanding service and love they showed all three of us!! They exceeded any expectations Jace and I might have had and just had to throw that out there. ...
Jace has been in MN since Thursday braving the cold with Team Franchise at the 2011 US Pond Hockey Championship . The team made it to Sunday again this year but unfortunately couldn't get by the "Pulled Hammies" this morning to advance to the finals. Better luck next year, boys! :( So, since he's been gone I've been catching up on projects around the homestead since it's been so damn cold outside. On Thursday night I scanned in about 80 old family photos that I had received over the years from my Aunt Kathleen. I decided to do this because I'm building an online baby book for mini-Ma$e and you can add pictures - thought it'd be fun to add some old family photos. We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!
