Pond Hockey 2013

Here's an aerial shot of the tournament. I count 26 rinks!
Hard to believe it's been a year since Jace was last crusin' around Lake Nokomis with Team Franchise but I suppose it's true...time does fly.  Team Franchise's 2013 performance in the 8th annual US Pond Hockey Championships was an epic repeat this year...make it to Sunday, lose the first game and head home.  Though this one played out the same as the others he's participated in there was a bit of excitement this time around as my dear husband took a puck off the face AND it was so windy the warming tent had to be evacuated for everyone's safety. Yep, sounds like a gay ole time.

beauty, babe. beauty.

While Jace was in MN braving the near record-breaking cold, E and I were holding it down here in the Creek.  We started Saturday off with "gymnastics" class just up the street. He only goes because his girlfriend Kathleen is in the class with him :) kidding, kidding...he goes so mommy and daddy can put him down for a really long nap afterwards...also kidding but I won't continue with this game that's probably only funny to me. As always they had a lot of fun together.  After class, lunch and aforementioned nap we braved the cool temps and grabbed what was left of E's bubbles. It'd been way too long without bubbles!

apparently they are still tasty

Rae even joined in the fun!

After that we read lots of books, practiced sign language and E put on a fashion show (thx again for the huge box of clothes, Team Sandness).

And Dad loves you, kiddo.

Just relaxing during story time. Take a load off, Rae, really.

Edited with my new favorite Elements plug in...
Totally Rad
On Saturday evening Easton had enough time away from Kathleen (I wish I could type the way he actually says her name...it's hilarious) and called her up for a date.

Dang. Gonna have to pass on the boots this time.

Hey boo. Are u ready?
Their uber romantic meal originally scheduled for "peanut shells on the floor" Texas Roadhouse ran into a snag when the hostess told them they'd have to wait nearly 40 minutes to eat...the kiddos demanded we take them to Bob Evans.  Blessing in disguise I tell ya! Sam, Sara, the kids and I all had a wonderful time (and meals, too) and E was pretty sad on the drive home.  No worries though because he made a miraculous recovery during bath time!

This was after his date. He was happy.
p.s. creative credit goes to Dani Walker. she killed it. i just tried my best
Daddy came home on Sunday and all was back to normal. Easton snuggled right up and resumed his new favorite pastime...watching videos of himself on YouTube.

I. Love. Me.
Sorry you came home empty handed (again) babe...better luck next year?

Introducing...Easton Douglas Anders!

Easton Douglas Anders - 3 days old More pictures @ http://www.our365.com/ He's here, he's here!!!  Jace and I welcomed our son Easton Douglas to the world this past Saturday, April 16th at 4:22 PM and we couldn't be more proud.  It was an awesome experience...not so much in the "incredibly cool, can't wait to do it again" context but genuinely in AWE of how mother nature and modern medicine can work together to ease a woman and efficiently deliver a baby.  Before I tell you all a little bit about our story (again, no worries, I won't blast all the nitty gritty across your screen) I must say a HUGE thank you to our staff at Winchester Hospital.  Though I know not a single of of those doctors, nurses and other staff members will read this they will forever hold a special place in our hearts for the outstanding service and love they showed all three of us!!  They exceeded any expectations Jace and I might have had and just had to throw that out there. ...

My Bachelorette Weekend

Jace has been in MN since Thursday braving the cold with  Team Franchise at the 2011 US Pond Hockey Championship .  The team made it to Sunday again this year but unfortunately couldn't get by the "Pulled Hammies" this morning to advance to the finals.  Better luck next year, boys! :( So, since he's been gone I've been catching up on projects around the homestead since it's been so damn cold outside.  On Thursday night I scanned in about 80 old family photos that I had received over the years from my Aunt Kathleen.  I decided to do this because I'm building an online baby book for mini-Ma$e and you can add pictures - thought it'd be fun to add some old family photos.  Anyway, I won't overload you with too many but here are some of my favorites...the rest can be viewed here . Moving on... Friday started off with another snowstorm - excellent.  Hanscom was open for business...well, that is, for everyone ex...

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!
