Father's Day Weekend 2011

"I'm all smiles, too, Mommy!" Then he puked...ugh... As I sit down to write this I'm all smiles...in small part because I just finished off the last corner piece of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownie that was leftover from last night but in large part due to the absolutely wonderful weekend Team Anders had. For those of you who read my rants on a semi-regular basis you know that Jace has been beboppin around for the past three weekends but THIS weekend he was all ours and we had SO much fun together :) Friday started off on what could have been a pretty low note as we had to take little E into get his first round of immunizations. He was due for the standard 2-month old series, six total vaccines...I was putting on a brave face but I was a little worried about hearing my baby boy scream bloody murder. We were pleasantly surprised though as Easton braved through the three shots with some vocal demonstrations and a few tears but calmed down immediately when ...

Watch Me Grow...2 Months

Date Night @ Sea Dog Brew Pub I don't recommend the fish tacos Happy Thursday everyone! Jace and I just got home from our date night and we're both exhausted!! Thursday night date night may be quickly writing itself into our history book to quickly be replaced by Thursday night couch night ;) So, anyway, Happy 2 Month Birthday, Easton!! I was SO excited to get him home from daycare today to slap on his cute little "2 Months" sticker and get to snappin some photos. We'll find out his height, weight, head circumference numbers/percentiles on Monday. Here's our progress so far... 16 May 11                                                                                               16 Jun 11  Tomorrow's going to be a rough day for Mommy...

Week 8 Potpourri

Lots of random stuff going on in the Team Anders world over the past week, wow! As you all know, Easton started daycare last Monday at the Hanscom CDC. He adjusted wonderfully and his teachers have nothing but great things to say about him so I've chalked that up to a successful first week. In the category of milestones, Easton knocked out an 8-hour stretch of sleep last Wednesday night...slept just long enough to wake up and say goodbye to Jace as he headed home to Minnesota for Mike Okey and Blair Hawkinson's wedding. Of course, that's yet to be repeated though ;) Mike & Blair...always havin' fun! Congrats Mr. & Mrs :) Okey is one of Jace's best friends from back home and one of the first people I met when Jace and I first got together (and was also present during one of my most embarrassing moments ever -- sorry, Albion Ridge GC). I was pretty bummed that I couldn't be there to celebrate with everyone but thought it was just a bit early to put li...

School Daze

Today was Easton's first day of "school" at the Hanscom Child Development Center (CDC). I'm not going back to work for over a month (July 11th) but once his slot opened up we had to accept it (and start paying) or decline, re-apply and head to the bottom of the wait list - no thanks! Since we're paying for it Jace and I figured we'd start slow with a few hours a week so I could have a some time to run some errands, grab a workout and possibly catch up on some much needed sleep. I accomplished the workout, grabbed some lunch and was missing the little homie too much to do anything more so it was back to Hanscom to pick him up. When I arrived he was just a chillin' in his bouncy chair with a big smile on his face. Elizabeth, his afternoon caregiver, said he had been great and was impressed with how content he'd been all day. He drank both his 5oz bottles but unfortunately didn't nap much (not looking forward to this evening!) Anyway, high-five litt...

Slow Your Roll, Son

It's no joke that kids grow so fast!  I swear when I unwrap our little guy from his cute little polka-dotted sleep sack every morning he's gained 5 lbs and grown 2 inches!  The best part, though, is watching him continue to learn new things and he surprised the crap out of good 'ole Mom & Dad last night when he did this (there's a video here all you e-mail subscribers)... We also had our first Mommy & Baby Yoga class this week.  It was nice and relaxing but my favorite part was looking at all the other babies there. They were all so cute and it was hilarious to hear these random baby coos and squeaks as our instructor was guiding us through a relaxing meditation at the end of class. I've gotta give it to our instructor, she was great at the guided meditation.  I found myself with my toes buried in the cool sand of Sandy's Landing, watching my entire family enjoy a hot August summer (while swatting at the occasional horsefly). Came out of my meditation...
