Our Apologies, New England

Easton's first snow!! 30 October 2011
Pretty sure this beautiful October snowstorm is the result of us buying Easton his winter bunting last weekend...oops, our bad! *wink* Well, wow, what an incredible bout of weather we just had. It started raining here around 3 o'clock yesterday and switched over to snow around 7:30. It was so pretty and most definitely made me want to go buy a Christmas tree and put that baby up!!! Bah Humbug would have seriously objected to that though so I stayed focused on Halloween for the time being.
Rain...

To snow...

You can see how heavy it was - this was last evening @ 9:00 PM

How's this for solar flare and long exposure?

Poor trees...Rae's diggin' it though

Beautiful October morning - 7:00 AM
Today the Globe reports there are about 650,000 people without power in MA this morning. Luckily, no power outages here at The Commons...though people around Reading haven't all been so lucky.

The Team went out for an early morning grocery store run and saw lots of trees and limbs down around town...to the point where Jace and I were both looking at one another wondering where the city trucks and electrical crews were. Hmm.... Anyway, we took our time leisurely strolling through the store then came home and headed out for Easton's "first snow" photos. (We actually had snow on the grassy surfaces on Friday morning but didn't bother with pictures...too early). Rae loved running through the snow with Jace, too.
Matching hats! LOVE

Yeay!!!! I've been trying to get this shot for the past few months :)

Just to prove I was there, too :)

Go nuts, Rae, go nuts!

Super Yorkie

Thanks, Dad, I love you!!!

The snow has definitely been the highlight of our week but let's see what else there is to share... Easton continues to prove he hasn't inherited his Daddy's tastebuds. He's like a little food vacuum for whatever you put on his spoon (even though he doesn't really care for peas, he still eats them). Up until now he's been eating Stage 1 foods (single ingredient fruits/veggies) but today we moved on to Stage 2 which is a bit thicker and more foods in combination. We had Sprout "Peach Rice Pudding" this morning and he LOVED it! He normally eats his cereal, fruit and veggie at daycare during the week so the weekends are a special treat for me to get to feed him :) He's very good at using the spoon now and has even started to use his upper lip to clear off the spoon with each bite...I know, I know, SUUPER exciting stuff ;)
His ears kill me! Looks like a little Yoda here
(Thanks, Mr & Mrs Locallo for this cute outfit!)

This is his favorite appetizer
Trying to figure out his fresh food feeder - filled with apples that he is
trying to squish with his gums (Thx, Catie, for showing us these!)

Still working on the apples

As for his development he's really starting to use his legs well when we hold him up or when he's in his Jumperoo. This is new over the last few weeks...where we can actually tell he's putting his feet flat on the ground and extending his legs to support his body weight. It's fun to watch him practice standing in his Jumperoo!

On the ground front he's beginning to really push up to getting his belly all the way off the ground. On occasion he'll pull his knees in but hasn't put any weight on them yet, just giving himself an ab workout. He's definitely more and more mobile everyday though...as demonstrated by the numerous puke stains on our carpet because he's managed to roll off the quilt/blanket we used to be able to just lay him on and be set. One more reason that this carpet will need to be torn out once Team Anders vacates The Commons.

Rae...seriously...if you don't stop taking my toys you're going to
force me to learn how to crawl and come after you

He also continues to entertain us with his non-stop babbling. It's adorable! His current track is set on endless repeat of "ba, ba, baaaaa" but he occasionally injects a "da" in there just to spice it up. Have a listen:

Well that's about it from here - sorry to blah, blah, blah so long. We hope everyone had a fabulous Halloween weekend and got out for some spooky Trick or Treating! Next year it's on for Team Anders...

Deck The Halls '13

Fa, la, la, la, laaa...la, la, la, la.  Christmas decorating came a bit early this year but we wanted to be adequately prepared for Uncle Jeff's arrival tomorrow -- and also, Easton is lovin' him some Christmas...and Santa...and talking about presents...which, in turn, allows us to talk about him being good for Santa and said presents. "No, Mom, I got this" I obviously got dressed up for the occasion...honestly, as long as the Christmas tree hat is on I could care less what I'm wearing. :) A quick little stroll down memory lane.  Love you, Gramie! E putting his "First Christmas" ornament up Just a little nostalgia -- this is the chair we did all his monthly shots in And a bonus shot (thanks for sticking around so long).  Little man's toe nail is no where to be found.  So strange. You're welcome, E. Love, Mom.

Trunk or Treat 2013

We just got back from Trunk or Treating at Easton's daycare...how flippin' fun (and pretty roarsome as Henry Hugglemonster would say). Mr. Blondie waiting for the trunk or treating to begin! Still figuring out that the chocolate must be unwrapped first. No hurry to explain :) Homeless Lion with a Market Basket bag. Score one for the parents. Some pretty creative pumpkins!

Little Slugger

Considering the World Series may come to a conclusion soon I figured I should get these photos up while baseball's still being played.  Though he's not throwin' from the mound with his left (yet) he is definitely a natural left-hand batter.  Daddy and Grapes are stoked.
